Biography

Age of Artemis is a heavy metal band formed in 2008 in Brasília, and is considered one of the most classic Power Metal groups in Brazil. In 2008, Artemis released the demo, “Fields of Ascension” and in 2011, Edu Falaschi (ex-Angra) was invited to produce the band’s first album. The recordings and production process resulted in the creation of the iconic “Overcoming Limits”. With all the exposure in magazines and websites, Age of Artemis was elected the revelation band of the year in 2011, according to specialized websites and magazines.

In 2014, the band’s second album, “The Waking Hour”, was released, which, like the debut, was released in Japan by the record label King Records. Both received great reviews from specialized media, resulting in two covers for the magazine “Rock Meeting”, interviews for Brazilian TV programs, and a sold-out debut show in the city of São Paulo.

In 2015, Age of Artemis achieved the grand feat of playing at one of the most famous festivals in the world, the 30th edition of Rock in Rio. The performance further increased the band’s notoriety throughout Brazil.

In 2017, the song “Unknown Strength” marked a new era for the band, becoming the gateway to the new album that would be released in 2019. “Monomyth” defined Age of Artemis as one of the heritages of Brazilian metal. This album was also released in Japan, and was considered the best representation of the band, given the maturity in the compositions and the personality that was expressed in the twelve tracks.

Despite the atypical year that was 2021, Age of Artemis brought a bit of positivity through their new album. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of “Overcoming Limits”, the band decided to surprise fans by presenting “Overcoming 10 Years”, their first acoustic album. The concept of this album is not just to turn off the guitars, but to bring new versions of songs that were part of the history of the metal scene in Brazil. In addition to these versions, Age of Artemis also brought a completely new track called “Healing Wounds”, highlighting all the characteristics that made them one of the best metal bands in Brazil.

The band is currently in the process of finalizing the compositions and pre-production of what will be their new studio album, scheduled to be released in 2025. The current lineup of the band includes Airton Araujo on vocals, Jeff Castro and Gabriel T-Bone on guitars, Giovanni Sena on bass and Fabian Antunes on drums.
